The final numbers are in for this years Thrill The World and a new record has been set with the Record Holders Republic:
On Oct. 25, 2008, 4,179 people from 10 nations (Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Scotland, United States of America, and Wales) simultaneously performed The Thriller Dance as part of the Thrill The World event, organized by Ines Markeljevic of Canada.

Once again, a massive congratulations to everyone who took part. What a success! You have all set a new world record!

Seattle rocked the joint with 195 dancers and hundreds of spectators.
It was a great event. Thank you to Ines and her team for putting this together. It was so much fun and was a great community builder.
Can’t wait to do it next year. Austin,Texas, you are on notice, Seattle is coming to get you!!

This was such a privilege to be a part of. To have done it, then come home and checked the videos posted on youtube within hours, and see what other people were doing… I had chills several times.
I had a few people in my area who were kind of lukewarm about the whole thing, and some came and watched, and others have seen the video. Now a lot of them are EXCITED about Thrill the World and I suspect will be participating next year. We have lots of plans to make it better here in Cookeville!
